LAFA Chairman speaks to coaches, staff, and players as the team prepares for the Governor’s Cup

In anticipation of the upcoming and exciting match against Langtang South football team, Chief Miri Timnan Nyantau, the Chairman of LAFA, has urged his team to deliver a performance that ensures a successful outing.

 

Chief Miri, during his visit to the team’s training camp on December 5, 2023, advised the players to act as good ambassadors for the local government and give their all to secure the coveted trophy, reflecting the desires of the community.

 

Furthermore, LAFA’s Chairman expressed the administration’s commitment to the team’s welfare. He pledged a reward of thirty thousand Naira (N30,000) for every victory at the group stage, promptly redeeming this promise by transferring one hundred and twenty thousand Naira (N120,000) into the team’s account.

 

Simultaneously, the Langtang North sports secretary, who was present at the stadium, spoke on behalf of the Local Government Council Chairman, Honourable Nanmwa Godwin Kumzhi. The sports secretary reminded the team of their responsibilities and assured them of the council’s support regarding their welfare.

 

Coach Mark Johnson Dashe, also known as Odogu, expressed gratitude for the support from the coaching staff and players, pledging to justify the confidence placed in them.

 

The visit garnered the presence of notable individuals who have played crucial roles in the growth and development of football in Langtang North, including Coach Nanjul, Coach Rev. Hosea Mallam, Coach Rev Canon, Coach Bigun, Coach Mrs. Nandir Dashe, and others.

 

It is worth noting that the LAFA coaching team for the upcoming Governors Cup was unveiled during the 2023 LAFA Cup finals at Useni Memorial College Dadur on December 3, 2023. The team, led by Coach Mark Johnson Dashe (Odogu), will be supported by Jonathan Yarkum, Joseph N. Pasico, and Timnan Yarnap Yaro.

 

Coach Odogu, the winner of the LAFA Cup 2023, looks forward to exchanging ideas with his Hilltop Academy counterpart, whom he recently defeated.
