Barr. Ngozi Achilefu, the Chairperson of FIDA Plateau State, has urged the Child Protection Network (CPN) to restore the former excellence in safeguarding children on the Plateau, reminiscent of previous years before CPN became inactive.
She conveyed this message while administering the oath of office to the newly elected Executive Officers of the Association, encouraging them to uphold their oath of office.
Barr. Olivia Dazyem, the Acting Chairperson on Gender Commission, also implored the newly inaugurated executives to advocate for children’s rights and ensure dedicated protection and justice in cases of child abuse. Represented by Barr. Nankus, she assured the Executive that her principal is eager to collaborate with them to ensure the right actions are taken.

Rev. Chris Damcher, the Chairman of Civil Society Organizations in Plateau, expressed gratitude to the new Executive members for their efforts during the five-month transition, which has now become a reality. Represented by Mrs. Anna Kisaba, an Ex Officio member of CPN, she acknowledged the challenging nature of handling and protecting children but encouraged the executive members to face the upcoming challenges with determination.
The Commissioner of Police in Plateau state expressed satisfaction with CPN for appointing executive members who will collaborate with the police for enhanced intervention in child protection. Represented by DSP Christiana Samuel, in charge of the gender desk, he pledged police support in any possible way.
The Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, represented by the Director of Child Development, Mrs. Fidelia Setle, commended the executive members for their team composition and commitment levels. She promised to work closely with them to bridge the gap with the government in sustaining the cause of child protection.

After the inauguration, Mrs. Sandra Chikan, the Plateau State Coordinator, pledged that their administration would continue collaborating with all stakeholders to address issues of child maltreatment, molestation, and other violent acts. She reminded everyone of their collective responsibility for child protection.

In expressing gratitude, the Deputy Coordinator, Mr. Gacha Steve Mancha, thanked everyone for attending the memorable ceremony. He reassured everyone to align with the words of the State Coordinator in bringing all stakeholders on board and, with gratitude, wished everyone a safe journey back home.
