In a thrilling development, Green Lock FC, the youth club based in Abuja, Nigeria, has formally established a partnership with Antalyaspor AS of Antalya. This collaboration aims to nurture the growth of young talents from both entities.

The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding occurred at the Antalyaspor’s Hasan Subasi Tesisleri Facilities in Antalya, coinciding with Green Lock FC’s training tour in Turkey.

This partnership between Green Lock FC and Antalyaspor AS will serve as a hub for talent identification and development, facilitating a dynamic exchange of ideas and techniques. It not only enhances the capabilities of both clubs but also offers aspiring footballers an outstanding platform to showcase their skills and pursue their footballing aspirations.

Detailing the terms of the partnership agreement, Mr. Bayo Olanlege, the Chief Operating Officer (COO), highlighted that the MoU emphasizes collaborative initiatives such as organizing tournaments across various categories, including first teams, youth leagues, and basic categories. Additionally, friendly matches between all levels of teams, player and coach exchanges for educational programs, and facility sharing for events will be conducted in compliance with FIFA regulations.

Mr. Olayinka Oladunjoye, the Chief Coordinating Executive, further emphasized that this collaboration aims to strengthen bilateral business relations and promote community engagement through sports cooperation between Turkey and Nigeria.

In sporting action, Green Lock FC displayed dominance in the second half to defeat Antalya 1863 FK convincingly, scoring 6 goals while maintaining a clean sheet, concluding the team’s training tour with a flawless winning record. Daniel Odumu secured a hat trick, marking his second consecutive day achieving this feat, supported by goals from Damilola Adeyeye, Opeyemi Falade, and Edwin Onazi, who demonstrated consistent scoring throughout the tour.

It’s worth noting that Green Lock FC previously triumphed over both youth teams of their host, Antalyaspor, and convincingly defeated MAG Football 11-2, establishing Antalya, Turkey, as a favorable ground where they continued their remarkable form with 7 wins and a draw in 8 games over two weeks. This impressive streak commenced from the club’s friendly series ahead of the 2024 season of the Nationwide League, Division One.
