Ebi Egbe, CEO of Monimichelle Sports Facility Construction, and ex-international footballer Waidi Akanni have both congratulated Mr. George Aluo, Chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), on his nomination for Imo SWAN’s ‘Sports Administrator of the Year Award.’ Egbe and Akanni praised the honor as a well-deserved recognition of Aluo’s positive impact on Nigerian sports.
The prestigious award, presented by the Imo State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), will be conferred on Aluo this Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Rockview Hotel in Owerri. Aluo is being recognized for his significant contributions to sports development, particularly for revitalizing Nigeria’s second-tier football league.
Egbe emphasized the significance of the award, noting, “It’s a joy to see Aluo’s contributions to sports development acknowledged by such an influential body. His leadership has reshaped the second-tier league, bringing it closer in visibility to the NPFL.”
Akanni echoed Egbe’s sentiments, commending the choice made by Imo SWAN and expressing optimism that the award will inspire Aluo to continue his reform efforts. “This award is an excellent choice,” Akanni said. “I’m confident it will motivate him to advance his vision of aligning our league with global standards.”
