Governor Caleb Mutfwang to Tee-off the 2024 PRO-AM Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament at Lamingo Golf Club

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, will officially tee off the 2024 PRO-AM Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament at the prestigious Lamingo Golf Club.

 

The ceremonial tee-off, marking the commencement of the event, is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Governor Mutfwang, who serves as the Grand Patron of the Lamingo Golf Club, will inaugurate the event, underscoring his commitment to sports development and tourism in Plateau State.

 

The announcement was made during a press briefing held at the Lamingo Golf Club on Monday, December 9, 2024. The Club Captain, Mr. Silas J. Vem, expressed profound gratitude to the Governor for his unwavering support and dedication to ensuring the success of this year’s tournament.

According to Mr. Vem, the week-long golfing extravaganza, themed “Golfing on the Rocks in the Home of Peace and Tourism”, will run from Monday, December 9, to Sunday, December 15, 2024. The tournament will feature a variety of competitions, with categories tailored for both professional and amateur golfers, including ladies, super veterans, veterans, and regular men.

 

Schedule of Activities:

  • Monday, December 9 – Thursday, December 12, 2024:
    The course will be open to professionals and Category 1 amateur golfers (men). A total of 92 entries were recorded on the first day, signifying a strong turnout.
  • Tuesday, December 10 – Thursday, December 12, 2024:
    Lady professionals and senior male golfers will compete over a three-day period.
  • Friday, December 13, 2024:
    Super veterans, aged 70 and above, will take center stage for a one-day competition.
  • Saturday, December 14 – Sunday, December 15, 2024:
    Over 300 amateur golfers, including ladies, veterans, and Categories 2, 3, and 4 golfers, will showcase their skills in what promises to be an exciting culmination of the event.

 

This year’s tournament has attracted top-ranked professionals from across Nigeria and neighboring West African countries, further enhancing its reputation as a premier golfing event in the region.
