Jos North emerged victorious, defeating the home team Shendam LG in a closely contested final. Despite the loss, Senator Lalong exuded optimism for Shendam’s future, confidently declaring, “Shendam will definitely win the next edition. Watching these players reminds me of my own football days.”

Reflecting on the Governor’s Cup, Senator Lalong celebrated the talent on display. “I am super excited for the revamped Governor’s Cup by the PFA,” he stated. “Though my home team lost, the winners are also mine. This is a win for all. Congratulations to Jos North and their Chairman, Barrister JK Chris. We’ll come for the cup next time!”

He further applauded Shendam LG Chairman, Hon. Kemi Nshe, for the ongoing upgrades to the mini stadium and commended Dr. Suleiman Kwande and the FA board for fostering grassroots football through well-organized competitions.

The third-place match saw Mikang defeat Jos South 1-0, thanks to a brilliant 52nd-minute free kick by Merpring Chigdi. In the final, Francis Izang’s corner-kick goal secured Jos North’s victory, with Shendam’s goalkeeper, Abdulsalam Shitnaan, unable to stop the decisive shot.

Several players and officials received accolades for their outstanding performances. Obed Luka of Jos South earned the Highest Goal Scorer title, Nasiru Muazu of Jos North was named Best Goalkeeper, Longwap Darko of Shendam became the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and Coach Sani Muhammad of Jos North was awarded Best Coach.
