Celebrating Leadership and Sportsmanship: Governor Mutfwang’s 60th Birthday Marked with a Special Novelty Match by PFA Chairman, Hon. Kwande

In celebration of His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang’s 60th birthday, the Chairman of the Plateau Football Association (PFA), Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, will lead football stakeholders in a grand novelty match. The event is set to take place at the City Park playing ground, Little Rayfield, Jos, on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 8 PM.

 

The match will bring together government officials, current and former legislators, members of the State House of Assembly, judiciary representatives, and passionate sports enthusiasts. This unique gathering aims to foster camaraderie and celebrate the Governor’s dedication to sports development.

 

Speaking at a press briefing, Hon. Kwande commended Governor Mutfwang for his unwavering support for football, particularly his contributions to grassroots development and infrastructure enhancement.

 

“This match is our way of honoring a leader who has continuously championed the growth of football and youth empowerment through sports. His commitment is unmatched, and we appreciate his passion. There is no football-related issue he does not support, which is why we are organizing this event as a token of our appreciation and encouragement for his continued efforts.”

 

Hon. Kwande also acknowledged the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Plateau Chapter, led by Alfred Saiki, for its consistent partnership with the PFA. He called for further collaboration to promote football in the state.

 

The press briefing was attended by PFA members, SWAN representatives, and other stakeholders. Governor Mutfwang, who marks his 60th birthday today, Wednesday, March 12, 2025, is expected to perform the ceremonial kick-off at the event.
