UNIJOS Hosts FISU Trials Ahead of 2025 World University Games

The University of Jos (UNIJOS) is set to host the 2025 FISU World University Games Trials, where over 500 student-athletes from 54 Nigerian universities will compete for a chance to represent Nigeria on the global stage.

 

The trials, scheduled for April 6th to 12th, 2025, will serve as the selection platform for Nigerian student-athletes participating in the FISU World University Games in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, which will take place from July 16th to 27th, 2025.

Organized by the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA), the trials will feature competitions in multiple sports, including athletics, badminton, judo, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and tennis.

 

Some of the venues scheduled to be used include the Rwang Pam Stadium, National Sports Commission, and Zaria Road Stadium.

 

Additionally, UNIJOS will also host the NUGA Games from November 5th to 16th, 2025, bringing together top university athletes from across Nigeria for another prestigious sporting event.

 

These trials mark a crucial step in Nigeria’s journey to international university sports excellence, offering young talents the opportunity to shine on the world stage.
