Former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Dr. Joshua Chibi Dariye, has extended heartfelt condolences to Rt. Hon. Alhaji Ahmed Idris Wase, former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, following the death of his elder sister, Hajiya Fatima Idris.

In a solemn press statement, Senator Dariye described the loss as deeply shocking and a significant blow not only to the family and Bashar Chiefdom, but also to the wider communities of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, and Nigeria.

He paid glowing tributes to the late Hajiya Fatima, whom he praised for her humility, generosity, and compassion—qualities he urged others to emulate.

“Her death has created a painful void, as she was a mother figure and a unifying presence within her family and community,” Senator Dariye remarked. Known affectionately as “Pirituwa”, the 88-year-old was celebrated for her dedication to selfless service, particularly to the royal family in Bashar and beyond.

Senator Dariye, in his message of sympathy, shared in the grief of his political ally and longtime friend, Rt. Hon. Wase, emphasizing that the passing of a loved one—especially one as impactful as Hajiya Fatima—should be accepted as the divine will of God.

On behalf of his family, friends, and political associates, Senator Dariye offered prayers for the repose of her soul and strength for the bereaved family to endure the loss.
