Plateau Golf Team Tees Off Strong: 3 Match Play Wins and a Bronze Medal

Plateau

Team Plateau had a strong showing on the first day of golf at the Ogun 2024 National Sports Festival.

In the match play category, they played four matches and emerged victorious in three.

Tina Micah kicked off the day with a win against Lagos in the women’s match play, showcasing her impressive skills on the course.

Sunday Morris followed suit, defeating Katsina in his single match play.

Beatrice Onoja also secured a win for Plateau, triumphing over Benue in her single match.

However, Bangeh Jonathan faced a tough opponent from Benue and lost his match.

Despite this setback, the team’s overall performance remained promising.

In the stroke play category, Joy Ekhator shone brightly, claiming the bronze medal with an impressive display of golfing prowess.

Unfortunately, Ajang kazi didn’t fare as well, finishing with a gross score of 83.

The three match play winners – Tina Micah, Sunday Morris, and Beatrice Onoja – are set to continue their matches on the second day, determined to build on their momentum and bring more glory to Plateau state.
