Plateau Peacocks have once again demonstrated their pedigree in Nigerian women’s handball by securing a commendable third-place finish in the 2025 Ardova Premier Handball League, organized by the Handball Federation of Nigeria and held at the Ekete Sports Complex in Benin City, Edo State.
Competing among eight of the country’s top-tier women’s handball teams, Plateau Peacocks played a total of seven matches, winning four and narrowly losing three, earning a commendable 15 points to secure a place on the podium.
The team’s campaign was marked by thrilling victories and hard-fought battles, reflecting the growing strength and consistency of Plateau State in handball. Their performance underscored their status as a resilient and ambitious side with a bright future ahead.
Speaking after the final whistle of their last game, team officials praised the players for their dedication, discipline, and fighting spirit throughout the competition. They also expressed gratitude to the Plateau State Government and sports stakeholders for their support, while calling for increased investment to help the team reach even greater heights.
With this third-place finish, the Plateau Peacocks have once again proven themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian women’s handball and set the stage for a stronger outing in subsequent competitions.
